What are the minimum technology requirements?

You will need a web browser with a Java Plug-in (Java 2 Runtime Environment version 1.3 or greater) installed.

Which browsers is HouseSudoku compatible with?

Currently HouseSudoku runs under FireFox, Mozilla, Internet Explorer, and Safari. You must have Java installed in your browser to play the game.

Is there a way to adjust the game difficulty?

Yes. The game creator has the option to select easy, medium, or hard games. The default is medium.

How do I use the chatroom inside the applet?

Simply enter your message in the long horizontal text box just under the Sudoku gameboard. Then either press enter on your keyboard or click the "Send to ..." button. You can send public messages when the radio button is set to "Room" and the clickable button says "Send to room". You can switch to "Whisper" mode instead which will then only send private messages to the username who is listed as your target.

How come my rating isn't changing?

Your rating is not adjusted when you play by yourself. There must be at least one other person involved in your game in order to change your rating. To play against somebody else, one of you must create a new channel (room) using a name that you have made up. The other player should press the "Refresh" button to find out the name of the game that has been created and then click it within the rooms list in order to join. Once all players have joined the chatroom then the creator should press the "Start game" button in order to begin playing. The game will only be rated if one person wins with a positive score.
